Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a seasoned Optical/Mechanical Engineer to contribute to innovative projects involving state-of-the-art sensor systems. This role is crucial for the design, fabrication, integration, and testing of advanced imaging and thermal solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, CATIA, ProEngineer, or CAM to create layouts, detailed drawings, assembly diagrams, and sketches.
  • Revise and maintain production drawings, ensuring accuracy in dimensions, materials, and part relationships.
  • Organize and uphold a systematic filing system for all production drawings.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to develop intricate designs for imaging systems, thermal systems, and innovative mechanisms.
  • Engage in thorough documentation practices, including design calculations, bills of materials, and performance guarantees.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks or equivalent).
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanisms and complex mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience in designing and documenting opto-mechanical subsystems.
  • Familiarity with fabrication methods, including machining and sheet metal processes.
  • Understanding of thermal and structural analysis principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in opto-mechanical design.
  • Experience with military standards and specifications.
  • Proficiency in conducting thermal and structural analyses.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute system performance testing.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
