Department Chair and Educational Leader

About the Role
We are seeking a visionary Department Chair to lead the Department of Teaching and Leading at Augusta University. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of academic leadership, with experience in curriculum development, program management, and faculty mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the department, developing and implementing plans to achieve its goals and objectives.
- Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and professional development of faculty members, as well as the coordination of teaching assignments and course schedules.
- Cultivate relationships with external partners, including schools, community organizations, and industry leaders, to promote the department's programs and initiatives.
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective use of resources to support departmental operations and initiatives.
- Foster a culture of innovation and excellence, encouraging collaboration and risk-taking among faculty and staff.
Requirements
- An earned doctorate in an education-related field aligned with Teaching and Leading.
- A minimum of five years of experience in academic administration, with a proven track record of leadership and management.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision, 13 paid holidays, vacation leave, sick leave, generous retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, and much more.
