Certified Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Family Medicine Manor Ridge. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Job Summary:The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for preparing patients for visits, administering injections, and providing gross observations to providers. You will also assist with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams as designated by the provider. Additionally, you will perform Point of Care Testing, remove sutures, and change dressings as necessary.
Responsibilities:- Prepare patients for visits by using appropriate rooming standards tools.
- Administer injections, as prescribed by the provider and in accordance with practice protocol.
- Provide gross observations to the provider or licensed nurse for interpretation as necessary.
- Assist with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams as designated by the provider.
- Perform Point of Care Testing, including but not limited to hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
- Remove sutures and change dressings as necessary.
- Provide clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence in accordance with established triage protocols and relay information to the patient.
- Authorize prescription refills as directed by the provider.
- Assist in test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
- Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
- Participate in daily huddles with the provider.
- Serve as a patient experience advocate by being always a positive influence when interacting with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- High school diploma or general equivalent (GED) is required.
- Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR) is required.
- CPR Certification required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support, formerly Healthcare Provider (AHA Heart Saver AMA CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
- For Regional Positions only, a valid driver's license is required.
- A healthcare provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs is required.
- One to two years of Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physician's office is preferred.
This role may necessitate occasional regional travel. For Regional Positions, you will travel regularly to various sites within the region to support operational needs.
