Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with nursing leadership to oversee nursing service activities within the designated care unit during a shift or in the absence of the Nurse Manager.
- Deliver professional nursing care to patients in the assigned unit.
- Assist nursing leadership in coordinating patient care, managing personnel, fostering physician/interdisciplinary collaboration, and fulfilling general administrative responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nursing and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience required. Work experience cannot substitute for the educational requirement.
- Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing is required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is mandatory or should be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA is required within six (6) months of hire. Depending on the unit/department, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from the AHA or other comparable certification may be required within six (6) months of hire.
