JOB OVERVIEW:
The Resident Assistant is responsible for providing essential non-direct care to residents and patients. This role is intended to offer valuable experience that can lead to a facility-sponsored CNA training program.

The CNA training program includes classroom education, clinical practice, and supervised on-the-job training, equipping individuals with the knowledge, skills, and certification required to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Restock unit supplies as needed
  • Prepare unoccupied beds
  • Transport residents to and from dining areas, therapy sessions, and activities
  • Accompany residents to appointments (non-hands-on tasks)
  • Assist with meal tray distribution
  • Maintain cleanliness in utility and nourishment areas
  • Provide water to residents
  • Ensure residents' rooms, bathrooms, and personal belongings are kept in an orderly and clean condition
  • Report to the nurse at the start and end of each shift, as well as any time leaving the unit
  • Communicate any changes in a resident's condition or behavior to the nurse
  • Uphold the dignity, confidentiality, and individuality of residents
  • Participate in mandatory in-service training as required by regulations or facility policies
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the nurse
  • Adhere to scheduled meal and break times
  • Follow facility policies and procedures
  • Implement Universal Precautions and Infection Control Practices
  • Maintain Corporate Compliance Standards
  • Engage positively with residents, family members, and visitors
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills
  • Represent the facility professionally
  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age; high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Capable of performing tasks while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and compassion
  • Physical stamina for frequent activity; ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds
