We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at Connections Health Solutions. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing crisis intervention and patient care services to individuals in need.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct security screenings and inventory property of individuals upon admission to the facility.
- Provide orientation to the Observation Unit and Short-term Inpatient Unit, educating patients on their rights and expectations.
- Intervene with escalated individuals using therapeutic techniques for de-escalation and perform restraints/seclusions when necessary.
- Complete 1-to-1 observations on patients in seclusion or mechanical restraints.
- Lift, move, and transport individuals, using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention.
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including eating, bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
- Conduct and document individual's vitals and report all questionable results to the RN/Physician.
- Attend court-ordered hearings when subpoenaed and provide testimony as needed.
- Document all services and significant individual interactions in the electronic health record.
- Monitor and document patients' progress.
- Maintain and ensure the cleanliness of the facility and designated assigned unit.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of behavioral health experience.
- Ability to perform Safe Clinch patient restraint techniques.
- Certified training in Safe Clinch, CPR, First Aid, and therapeutic options (desired).
- Completion of CNA or Patient Care Tech program (desired).
- Completion of BHT certification (desired).
