At BlackLine, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant, Revenue to join our team. As a key member of our revenue operation, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. Your expertise will be instrumental in building and maintaining full-cycle revenue accounting operations, supporting the Director of Revenue in scaling the Order-to-Cash process in a rapidly growing SaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and other revenue-related tasks for the month-end and quarter-end close processes.
  • Manage accrual and reconciliation processes around royalty revenue related to our program with an enterprise resource planning software provider.
  • Perform technical accounting research and update technical accounting memos and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and perform customer contract review to ensure consistent application of revenue recognition policies.
  • Prepare and review key disclosures in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules, addressing audit queries, and implementing effective internal control systems.
  • Build and maintain relationships with sales, legal, and finance business partners.
  • Collaborate with revenue and other teams to stay on top of upcoming revenue projects and identify accounting risks.
  • Provide accounting support to various business partners across the organization.
  • Supervise and mentor less experienced team members, providing guidance and reviewing their work.
Requirements:
  • 4-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent experience).
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and work effectively under time pressure.
  • CPA and/or Public accounting experience a plus (Mid-tier or Big 4).
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora preferred.
