Position Overview

The Culinary Support Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting kitchen personnel with meal and ingredient preparation. This position involves the daily production of designated food items as outlined by the scheduled shift and under the guidance of the supervisor, ensuring that food quality and operational standards align with our organizational values and commitment to excellence. The Culinary Support Specialist collaborates with team members and management as needed while consistently upholding our high standards for food quality and efficient service.

Job Requirements

The Culinary Support Specialist is expected to divide their shift between working in the service kitchen, preparing the kitchen for service, maintaining sanitation, and assisting colleagues. This role demands reliability, physical stamina, a sense of urgency, and the capability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Our establishment operates daily, necessitating availability for morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Key Responsibilities

The Culinary Support Specialist will undertake various food preparation, cooking, and cleaning tasks to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly in creating and serving dishes for customers. Responsibilities include:

  • Completing all tasks sequentially as directed by the Head Chef or kitchen manager.
  • Preparing morning grab-and-go items for deli cases.
  • Meeting daily catering order deadlines.
  • Restocking the station with prepped items for the next shift.
  • Labeling and organizing all ingredients on accessible shelves.
  • Washing, chopping, and sorting ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, and meats.
  • Executing initial steps in various recipes.
  • Following recipes accurately.
  • Cleaning dishes, washing utensils and cookware, disposing of waste, and sanitizing the kitchen.
  • Adhering to all relevant nutritional and sanitary regulations.
  • Monitoring ingredient inventory and collaborating with kitchen and management staff for resupply orders.
  • Storing food ingredients and supplies upon delivery.
  • Practicing safe food handling and sanitation protocols.
  • Exhibiting a strong work ethic and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Availability

Flexibility to work shifts on weekends and holidays is essential.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the shift supervisor or kitchen lead.
