PacifiCorp seeks a dedicated professional to serve as the primary contact for public safety information during emergency response. This role requires frequent overnight travel and work during nights, weekends, and holidays.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will provide critical support to PacifiCorp's Wildfire Intelligence Center, deploy to wildfires when infrastructure is threatened, and conduct internal and external training on fire safety and incident management. This position demands strong communication skills, ability to establish objectives, and decision-making under pressure.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report on fires and storms affecting or potentially affecting PacifiCorp electric infrastructure and non-electric facilities.
  • Represent PacifiCorp during fire and emergency incidents, coordinating safe access for personnel and equipment.
  • Develop close working relationships with fire and emergency management agencies throughout the service territory.
  • Provide timely incident information to PacifiCorp leadership and organizations.
  • Enhance first responder safety through electrical safety presentations and coordinate projects like Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) program support.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience as a paid firefighter.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Bachelor's Degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects, operations, and functions.
  • Necessary skills to develop and implement systems, programs, and processes.
  • 24/7 availability for emergencies and disasters.
  • Proficient computer skills, including spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation applications.
