Role Summary:

As a Client Relations Associate, you will report directly to the Store Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring that customers receive an exceptional purchasing experience. You will take on responsibilities that may include decision-making in the absence of management.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Engagement
  • Welcome customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous assistance; address any feedback, inquiries, or concerns they may have.
  • Build and nurture customer relationships by recognizing regular patrons and newcomers, remembering their preferences.
  • Ensure efficient customer interactions, which include greetings, swift transactions, suggestive selling, accurate change handling, and concluding with a thank you.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, promotional offers, and store events.
Training and Development
  • Strive for optimal productivity each day.
  • Support colleagues with inquiries and procedural guidance as needed.
  • Assist in training new Client Relations Associates on store protocols.
  • Balance tasks effectively with team members.
  • Continuously enhance your understanding of store operations.
Store Responsibilities
  • Complete tasks assigned by the Store Manager.
  • Adhere to operational hours and follow the posted work schedule, unless otherwise arranged.
  • Safeguard company inventory and assets by adhering to asset control policies.
  • Engage in loss prevention by monitoring suspicious activities and responding according to company guidelines.
  • Manage product pricing, stocking, and rotation, while checking expiration dates.
  • Refuse sales of restricted items to underage customers or those who appear intoxicated.
  • Conduct inventory counts as directed by management.
  • Follow company protocols when interacting with vendors, including order verification.
  • Complete daily administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness standards throughout the store, including but not limited to:
    • Cleaning and stocking registers, coolers, restrooms, and product displays.
    • Ensuring all signage is current and properly displayed.
    • Monitoring store equipment for functionality and maintenance.
  • Comply with all company policies and report any violations.
  • Promote safety practices and encourage adherence among team members.
Technical Skills
  • Understand how to adjust pricing as directed by management.
  • Assist with fuel inventory management and maintenance checks as assigned.
Communication Skills
  • Inform the Store Manager of any personnel issues or policy breaches affecting store performance.
  • Report incidents, maintenance needs, and customer concerns immediately and complete necessary documentation.
  • Communicate potential career opportunities and assist in recruiting efforts.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience in retail or convenience store settings. Familiarity with relevant laws governing retail sales is essential.
Mathematical Proficiency:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English at an eighth-grade level.
