Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team. As an Assistant Store Manager, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager with the day-to-day operations of the store, including supervising employees, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager with overseeing the store's operations, including supervising employees, managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe store environment.
  • Recruit, train, and develop employees to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their jobs effectively.
  • Monitor and control store expenses, including labor costs, inventory, and supplies.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by ensuring that customers are greeted promptly and assisted with their purchases.
  • Ensure that all store policies and procedures are followed, including those related to safety, security, and customer service.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of retail management experience, preferably in a convenience store or similar environment.
  • Proven track record of success in managing employees, controlling expenses, and increasing sales.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with employees, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours.
  • Lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead up to 30 minutes in a shift.
  • Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level.
  • Push/pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds.
  • Bend at the waist with some twisting up to one hour a shift.
  • Grasp, reach, and manipulate objects with hands. This handwork requires eye-hand coordination, and may require climbing a ladder to store and retrieve materials or place and remove signs.
