Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they enter the office.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance information and collecting necessary documentation.
  • Schedule appointments and maintain an organized calendar for healthcare providers.
  • Handle incoming phone calls using office phone systems, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff members.
  • Accurately input patient information into electronic health record systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft.
  • Process medical records and documentation, including coding using ICD-9 when necessary.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, faxing, and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist with billing inquiries and provide administrative support to medical staff as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical administrative support functions.
  • Proficient in 10 key typing and able to type efficiently for data entry tasks.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Eaglesoft is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in patient records and scheduling.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
