Medication Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medication Technician to join our team at Oakmont Senior Living. As a Medication Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by supervising and assisting in the administration of medications.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and distribute medication to residents in accordance with established nursing standards and policies.
  • Coordinate medication services with the resident, pharmacy, and physician to ensure seamless care.
  • Order and track all medication changes, refills, and deliveries with pharmacies to maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents, and guests by following established safety standards.
  • Encourage teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.
Qualifications:
  • Prefer one (1) year of experience assisting with medication at a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is a plus.
  • Must be able to operate MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong desire to work with the elderly and care for their needs.

Possess written and verbal skills to interact and communicate effectively with employees, supervisors, physicians, healthcare professionals, residents, and their families.

Must pass a Criminal Background check and Health Screening tests, including physical and TB Tests.

For the health and safety of our team members and residents, Oakmont Management Group may require team members to vaccinate, participate in daily screening, surveillance testing, and to wear face coverings and other personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 or other communicable diseases, per regulatory guidelines.
