Medical Director Assistant

El Proyecto del Barrio is seeking a highly qualified Assistant Medical Director to join our team. This is a full-time position that will provide clinical supervision and leadership for all clinical staff.
Responsibilities:- Provide clinical supervision and leadership for all clinical staff
- Assist in establishing and providing direction for medical policies and standards for the corporation
- Ensure compliance with mission statement and philosophy with regard to medical practices, oversee quality of care issues and compliance, and responsible for patient healthcare and/or provision of healthcare to El Proyecto mental health and substance abuse clients
- Assist the Medical Director to coordinate and oversee the Quality Assurance/Quality Management, Risk Management Committees and meetings, including quarterly peer review
- Collaborate with the Utilization Review Committee and assist with the implementation and monitoring of 330, Federal, State & local Grants
- Recruit and supervise EPDB licensed medical staff
- Conduct Medical Staff Meetings and supervise and develop medical providers, including medical residents, and oversee clinical support personnel
- Develop, implement, and maintain Medical Policies and Procedures
- Assist the Managed Care Department with medical oversight, including Specialist physician practice review, policy development, and Quality Assurance Reviews
- Engage in and/or provide technical assistance to El Proyecto's programs that require medical knowledge or expertise
- Develop, implement, and track clinic and provider performance goals
- Act as Medical Director in the absence of the Medical Director
- Leadership abilities with practitioners and an understanding and sensitivity of the Latino population
- Experience in clinical financial management and in supervising medical residents
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
- Must possess a dependable automobile with insurance and a valid California Driver's License
- Must submit to and pass a drug test as a pre-condition for employment
- Must provide proof of COVID-19 Vaccine and Booster, TB test, Hepatitis B, and any other requirement
- Must possess a Medical Degree and a California State Medical License and be Board Certified
