Position Overview:
The Integrated Grid & Energy System Applications team at EPRI is at the forefront of applying innovative technologies and expert knowledge to address specific challenges faced by our members in grid management, distributed energy resources, and climate impact assessments.
This team is dedicated to generating practical insights regarding the implications and functionalities of emerging technologies through utility-driven demonstrations and interdisciplinary projects. Our initiatives emphasize collaboration with EPRI experts to create tailored deliverables that meet the unique needs of our members, executed within expedited timelines, and focused on addressing immediate research inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing experiments for novel technologies in both laboratory and field settings.
- Overseeing laboratory assessments of new grid-edge technologies, including Distributed Energy Resources (DER).
- Conducting power system modeling and simulation tasks.
- Addressing systems integration challenges in collaboration with utilities, manufacturers, and research organizations.
- Utilizing advanced data analytics, machine learning, and visualization techniques to effectively communicate experimental outcomes to diverse audiences.
- Presenting research results to members and the broader scientific and engineering communities through various forums, including meetings and conferences.
- Traveling periodically to member sites, conferences, and meetings for research and technology dissemination.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical discipline or equivalent experience is required.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- 1-2 years of relevant professional experience.
This position is eligible for participation in EPRI's annual incentive program, with the incentive amount varying based on the plan's terms and conditions.
