Job Overview

Position Summary: The Low Voltage Systems Specialist is responsible for the installation and maintenance of low voltage wiring systems, including alarm systems, security systems, and fire alarms. This role involves executing structured cabling tasks to install, service, maintain, repair, and modify low voltage category cabling, communications cabling, and fiber optic cabling, as well as running Cat 6 cable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain low voltage wiring systems.
  • Execute structured cabling work for various systems.
  • Perform repairs and modifications to existing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires working in various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. Candidates must be prepared to wear personal protective equipment, including hard hats and safety glasses, and respirators when necessary. The role demands the ability to work 8-10 hours per day, with potential overtime, and includes physical activities such as crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, and lifting heavy objects exceeding 50 pounds.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a commercial or industrial electrician.
  • Reliable transportation is essential.
  • Strong attendance and punctuality are required.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work from descriptions and blueprints.
  • Proficient in running Cat 6 cable.
  • Layout capabilities are necessary.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with other craftsmen.
  • Dependable and committed to completing projects from start to finish.

Compensation: $22 - $32 per hour
