Medical Biller Role at Ideal Option and Ideal Balance

We are seeking a skilled Medical Biller to assist in the revenue cycle functions within our billing department. As a Medical Biller, you will play a key role in submitting medical claims to insurance companies and payers, working directly with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to get claims processed and paid.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims.
  • Use coded data to produce and submit claims to insurance companies.
  • Assist patients in verifying benefit information and assist in patient scheduling and account creation.
  • Prepare, review, and transmit claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
  • Follow up on unpaid claims within the standard billing cycle timeframe.
  • Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.
  • Set up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.
  • Update billing software with rate changes.
  • Update cash spreadsheets and run collection reports.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of one year of experience with medical billing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Internet.
  • A knowledge of chemical dependency and its effects on individuals, families, and communities is preferred.
