Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Primary Health Care Inc. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering quality healthcare to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include clinical care and administrative support, ensuring seamless patient care and a positive experience for our patients and providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Documentation: Accurately and timely document patient care in the electronic health record.
  • Patient Rooming and Intake: Facilitate the patient rooming and intake process, obtaining accurate patient vital signs per established workflow.
  • Point-of-Care Testing: Perform point-of-care testing per CLIA guidelines and other established workflows, ensuring service orders are completed timely.
  • Medication Administration: Administer medications, immunizations, and treatments per written or standing orders.
  • Lab and Diagnostic Testing: Perform lab and diagnostic testing per written orders, explain testing procedure and preparation, and report test results per procedure.
  • Prior Authorizations and Referral Management: Complete timely prior authorizations and referrals per established guidelines.
  • Communication: Answer and return phone calls timely, providing excellent customer service.
  • Exam Preparation and Assistance: Prepare for exam/procedure and assist provider as requested.
  • Patient Education: Provide patient education appropriate to the patient's age and identified learning needs.
  • Care Team Collaboration: Collaborate with assigned Care Team by participating in team huddles and pre-visit planning for scheduled patients.
  • Quality Control: Complete and accurately document quality controls per established process.
  • Infection Control: Perform pre-cleaning and transport of contaminated instruments per infection control policies and procedures.
  • Supply Management: Routinely evaluate supply levels in exam rooms, removing expired supplies and restocking as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Certification: Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration issued by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA.
  • BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers Certification.
  • Mandatory Reporter Certification: Mandatory Reporter Certification.
