About the Opportunity

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team in the newly established Orthopedic Walk-In Clinic at our Somersworth location.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing urgent, same-day visits for patients, and establishing needed follow-up or surgical care during the visit.

As a Medical Assistant in this role, you will be responsible for assisting Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) with patient care, including cast/splint application and removal, instruction of durable medical equipment, crutch training, and patient education on casting and splinting.

You will also be responsible for triaging patient concerns and working autonomously to the top of your education/certification while functioning as part of the collaborative team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Physicians and APPs with patient care, including cast/splint application and removal
  • Provide instruction on durable medical equipment and crutch training
  • Offer patient education on casting and splinting
  • Triage patient concerns and work autonomously to the top of your education/certification
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of Medical Assistant School/Program or equivalent training
  • OR currently working as Medical Assistant with minimum of one year of experience
  • Six months experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • One to three years' experience in Orthopedics strongly preferred
  • Must obtain a national Medical Assistant certification within 1 year of employment
  • AHA or ARC BLS within 90 days of hire
