As a Lead Electrical Control Systems Engineer at LogistiQ Corp, you will be responsible for the development and enhancement of electrical control systems for both new and existing products. This role requires a strong foundation in engineering principles and the ability to work independently on customer projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and implement control architecture and logic for high-speed sorting systems.
2. Develop electrical control systems tailored to company products.
3. Program PLC, HMI, and PC-based control systems using various software tools.
4. Create detailed Sequence of Operations, Control Schematics, and Control Panel layouts using CAD software for customer proposals and manufacturing processes.
5. Generate bills of materials and routings for cost estimation and production.
6. Produce owner’s manuals, testing procedures, and other essential engineering documentation.
7. Conduct electrical calculations for component sizing.
8. Provide technical assistance to manufacturing personnel.
9. Offer field support for company products as necessary.
10. Collaborate with senior engineers and subject matter experts for guidance and mentorship.
Travel Requirements:
This position may involve occasional travel, estimated at 15% or less, which may occur on short notice and could include weekends or holidays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 0-5 years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70, National Electric Code, and NFPA 79 standards.
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical control circuits.
- Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
- General knowledge of PLC, HMI, and PC-based control hardware and software.
Language Proficiency:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
Mathematical Skills:
Competence in algebra and geometry necessary for solving engineering challenges.
Work Environment:
The work environment is a professional office setting within a manufacturing facility. Interaction with shop floor personnel is frequent, and the role may require occasional visits to customer sites for application reviews or product installations. The employee may encounter moving mechanical parts and airborne particles in the manufacturing area, with noise levels that typically do not require hearing protection.
