Job Title: Engineering Manager

LogistiQ is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Mechanical Design Engineering team. As a key member of our engineering management team, you will be responsible for providing daily thought leadership, mentoring, coaching, and active coordination of work assignments for personnel in the team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of new products and ensure timely NPD objectives are met
  • Mentor and coach team members to improve their skills and knowledge
  • Develop and drive usage of standard work within the team
  • Promote best practices and industry norms
  • Train and develop direct reports
  • Drive collaboration and foster an environment to attract, engage, develop, and retain top talent
  • Work with other managers to meet LogistiQ goals
  • Model best practices in team collaboration for others to follow
  • Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to execute NPD objectives
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering team deliverables
  • Drive technical decisions with alignment from key stakeholders
Requirements:
  • 10+ years of sheet metal design experience, preferably in material handling or material conveyance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Hands-on problem-solving skills and ability to work in various environments
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing and engineering fundamentals
  • CAD proficiency, with experience in SolidWorks preferred
  • Working knowledge of ERPs and PLM/PDM Systems
  • Basic knowledge of electrical controls, operation, and circuit design
  • 10+ years of experience in tolerancing, GD&T, and machine design
  • Working knowledge of power transmission systems
  • Familiarity with conveyors and material handling systems
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with all staff
Education and Experience:
  • Four-year degree in a relevant engineering field, preferably mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing
  • 10+ years of experience in an applicable engineering field, with 5-10+ years in a leadership role
  • Proficiency in modern manufacturing methods and processes
  • Proficiency in Lean problem-solving
Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical schematics and customer specifications. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Mathematical Skills:

Excellent math skills required, with ability to perform engineering calculations employing algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.

Computer Skills:
  • Proficient with 3D CAD Software, SolidWorks, or 3DInventor
  • Proficient with 2D AutoCAD
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Outlook
Work Environment:

The employee works in the office but has frequent interaction with personnel on the shop floor. Typical workdays are split between the two environments, with occasional travel to customers' plants or suppliers.
