Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, equipment, and components in a manufacturing plant.

  • Implement predictive maintenance techniques to proactively identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  • Maintain accurate records of all mechanical work performed, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Maintain an inventory of mechanical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for repairs and projects.
  • Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to identify issues, validate equipment functionality, and conduct rigorous testing and calibration of equipment and systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Use troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to address challenges with precision and efficiency.
  • Ensure mechanical systems are operating safely and efficiently to support the plant's production goals.
  • Ensure mechanical systems comply with safety codes and standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of mechanical systems, assisting in other departments as required.
  • Actively seek opportunities to recommend improvements that enhance function and efficiency, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to colleagues on maintenance procedures and best practices.
  • Work independently and with other team members to complete tasks and repairs timely and safely.
  • Use maintenance management and ERP systems correctly to track maintenance activities, manage inventory, and plan repairs.
  • Train and mentor fellow employees.
Requirements:
  • Minimum education of High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance roles, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, repairs, installations, use of diagnostics tools and testing equipment, software relevant to maintenance tasks, and preventive maintenance tasks for a wide range of equipment and systems.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong reading, writing, comprehension, and math skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure while resolving maintenance issues efficiently and safely.
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Additional vocational training, technical certifications, and/or an Associates degree is preferred.
  • Must pass a knowledge test to demonstrate understanding of essential electric and mechanic concepts and practices.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to move 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to work shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Frequent manual dexterity (e.g., grasping, pulling, etc.).
