We are seeking a highly skilled Class A CDL Laborer to join our team at BrandSafway. As a key member of our field operations team, you will be responsible for safely transporting equipment and materials to and from job sites, assisting with equipment setup and maintenance, and performing various tasks to support our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Drive safely and courteously on public and customer roads, adhering to all traffic laws and MATCOR rules and regulations.
- Assist workers with loading and unloading trucks at job sites or the yard, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies, including tires, brakes, gas, oil, and water, to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate DOT logs and perform pre- and post-trip inspections as required by DOT regulations.
- Perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, fuses, tire chains, and spark plugs.
- Secure cargo and assist with inventorying crew trucks to ensure all necessary equipment and materials are stocked.
- Perform related tasks, including yard maintenance and installation of cathodic protection pipeline work.
- Minimum 21 years of age.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A CDL) from the state of residence.
- Minimum of 3 months of driving experience.
- Must successfully pass a minimum of a 6-month DOT physical, pre-placement drug screen, and satisfactory background check.
- Must have an acceptable driving record in accordance with MATCOR/Brand's Vehicle Policy.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work safely and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in performing work in the field.
- Ability to use an electronic time tracking system.
- Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs.
- Must be willing to travel 75-100% and work long hours, including 12-hour shifts.
- Must work well with others and be willing to learn from mentors and others in the shop and field.
- Equipment operations experience.
- Electrical experience.
- Mechanical experience.
- Construction experience.
