Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager to join our team at Regional Transportation District (RTD). As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and scheduling of payrolls, as well as investigating and settling disputes involving possible errors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, train, and manage payroll staff to ensure consistent application of Employee Guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Conduct performance reviews and hold employees accountable for their responsibilities.
  • Establish, manage, and implement payroll and related policies and procedures required by the organization, DOL, FLSA, and the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Oversee and schedule the preparation of payroll, including audits of employee pay, time off accruals, and historical records in the payroll software program.
  • Prepare schedules and analyses for internal and external auditors, and reconcile payroll-related control and resolve differences.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure the accuracy of Payroll G/L accounts and taxes.
  • Manage, administer, and review the preparation and distribution of the annual W2 reporting forms, and oversee all report preparation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in a higher level payroll position for a medium or large organization, including experience with payroll in a collective bargaining environment.
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with payroll software systems.
  • Experience with Workday and Oracle eBusiness Suite, including core HRMS-Payroll, OTL Administrator, and UPK applications, preferred.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred.
Working Environment and Physical Requirements

The work environment is a typical office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
