Job Title: Delivery Driver

Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are seeking a skilled Delivery Driver to join our team in Hillsborough, NJ.

Job Summary:

The Delivery Driver will be responsible for loading and transporting arrangements to customer's homes, businesses, municipal buildings, hospitals, and any location required by the business. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and the ability to interact with a wide range of people.

Responsibilities:
  • Load and transport flowers arrangements to delivery sites, as indicated by business needs
  • Transport individuals with intellectual disabilities to and from day program
  • Assist individuals with getting on and off vans or vehicles
  • Ensure the safety of individuals and maintain a safe environment
  • Perform any tasks needed by shop involving driving, including but not limited to bank visits, supply pick up or delivery, and transportation of consumers to and from homes
  • Attend staff meetings as determined by supervisor
  • Attend any necessary trainings
  • Employees must cooperate with the licensee and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • The ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in a crisis situation
  • The ability to interact with a wide range of people
  • Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with consumers
  • Ability to read and write English
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
Working Conditions:
  • Employee travels utilizing their own vehicle or company-provided vehicles
  • Frequent lifting, stretching, and other physical exertion
  • May occasionally assist with wheelchair transfer of non-ambulatory consumers
  • May be exposed to various medical conditions and communicable diseases
  • May be exposed to various plants and pollens
