About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic Group Exercise Instructor to join our team at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Health & Fitness Center. This is a unique opportunity to teach group fitness classes in a state-of-the-art medically integrated health and fitness center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach group exercise classes in a professional and safe manner, providing modifications to accommodate varying fitness levels.
  • Maintain industry certification in good standing and meet continuing education requirements.
  • Ensure arrival time allows for proper set up, and class begins and ends on time.
  • Report any equipment needs or broken equipment to supervisor immediately following class.
  • Record participation numbers after every group exercise class.
  • Demonstrate accountability to schedule by avoiding missed classes and seeking substitute instructors in advance.
  • Provide a fun and engaging experience for participants.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • A group exercise instructor certification required, preferably NCCA accredited.
  • Certification for some specialty group exercise class instruction is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in group class instruction, teaching various styles, levels, and populations preferred.
  • CPR/AED certification required within 90 days of hire (provided by Power Wellness).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with members in a positive, service-based manner.
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain a controlled and professional demeanor.

Estimated Salary Range: $35,000 - $50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
