Job Description

Job Title: Catholic Religious Education Coordinator

Location: Travis AFB, CA

Job Summary:

The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator is responsible for implementing and managing the Catholic Religious Education program at Travis AFB, CA. This includes developing and implementing curriculum, recruiting and training catechists, and coordinating program events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development:
    • Develop and implement curriculum for Catholic Religious Education programs for children and youth.
    • Collaborate with the Catholic Chaplain/Priest and Catholic Pastoral Coordinator to plan and implement special events and liturgies.
    • Ensure that all programs are aligned with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Diocese of Sacramento.
  • Volunteer Management:
    • Recruit, train, and manage a team of catechists and volunteers to assist with program implementation.
    • Provide ongoing support and training to catechists and volunteers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively lead programs.
  • Program Operations:
    • Coordinate program events, including registration, scheduling, and logistics.
    • Manage program budgets and ensure that all expenses are in line with the Faith Formation budget.
    • Maintain accurate records of program participation and attendance.
  • Communication:
    • Develop and implement a communication plan to keep parents and program participants informed about program events and activities.
    • Collaborate with the Catholic Chaplain/Priest and Catholic Pastoral Coordinator to ensure that all communication is aligned with the teachings of the Catholic Church and the Diocese of Sacramento.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Certified Catechist through the Archdiocese of Sacramento.
  • Experience: 6 years of experience in Catholic Faith Formation programs, with at least 3 years serving as a Faith Formation Coordinator in a military chapel.
  • Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills, ability to work well with others, and knowledge of the Catholic faith and its teachings.

The Catholic Religious Education Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and priorities. The Coordinator will be required to work independently and as part of a team to ensure the successful implementation of the Catholic Religious Education program.
