Job SummaryThe Clinical Laboratory Scientist will play a critical role in our diagnostic processes, conducting laboratory tests, collecting samples, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our diagnostic procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, prepare, and label patient samples, specimens, and cultures in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform a wide range of clinical laboratory tests, including blood tests, urine analysis, microbiology, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring they are in proper working order.
- Maintain and monitor quality control systems to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Accurately record and report test results, including abnormal findings, to healthcare providers and maintain precise laboratory records.
- Adhere to safety and infection control policies, laboratory regulations, and industry best practices.
- Identify and address technical issues and irregularities in test results, and troubleshoot equipment problems as needed.
- Monitor and replenish laboratory supplies and reagents to ensure continuous testing capabilities.
- Participate in research projects and contribute to the development of new testing methods or procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, physicians, and nurses to provide accurate and timely information regarding test results.
- Train new phlebotomists, technicians, and technologists in conjunction with the Laboratory Supervisor.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience.
