Job Summary

This is a hybrid position that requires working from a remote office and an assigned work location within the PG&E Service Territory. The successful candidate will support a department or a line of business by providing technical expertise, developing and implementing effective business strategies, and mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as a subject matter expert and thought leader, applying extensive unique expertise to develop and implement effective business strategies.
  • Mentors and provides guidance to less experienced colleagues, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Develops and implements complex compliance training activities, including developing technical standards and manuals, evaluating and recommending new work methods, and training in implementing requirements, work processes, and procedures.
  • Assists others in defining curriculum learning objectives and course outline, designing curriculum, and developing/building training content and materials.
  • Delivers course curriculum to students, and provides feedback to curriculum design team to improve training.
  • Leads numerous complex and/or unique projects of broad scope with high corporate or functional priority.
  • Provides input into training programs and requirements for repairs, maintenance, operations, and equipment.
  • Acts as a witness assistant by helping with the development of testimony, work papers and discovery responses, settlement documents and communications materials.
  • Provides technical expertise, historical perspective, industry standard, and regulation code requirements to improve safety, productivity and performance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 12 years in the electric utility industry
  • At least 10 years' experience as a Journeyman, Estimator/ADE or in an engineering discipline

Certification in one or more of the following:

  • Journeyman Lineman, or
  • Journeyman Cable Splicer, or
  • Journeyman Electrician, or
  • Journeyman Electrical Technician, or
  • Journeyman System Operator, or
  • Estimator/Associate Distribution Engineer

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in job-related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Experience as Cable Splicer
  • Experience with MS-Microsoft Office applications-Access, Excel, OneNote, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher, SharePoint, Word, 2 years
