Position Overview

Westlake Services is seeking a proactive and motivated Accounting Manager to join our team. The Accounting Manager will oversee all financial operations related to designated facilities.

This position also plays a vital role in managing the Division's Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function, collaborating with the windows business team to enhance performance and implement strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Accounting Manager include, but are not limited to:

Operational Accounting

- Ensure timely financial closing for the assigned team, including the review of journal entries, profit and loss statements, and balance sheets, while promptly addressing any closing-related issues with operations.

- Oversee all accounting functions for designated facilities, including comprehensive management of the profit and loss statement, manufacturing reports, and all balance sheet accounts.

- Supervise finance activities for assigned facilities, encompassing forecasting, variance analysis, and annual budget preparation.
- Prepare and analyze data requests for operations, corporate, and external financial reporting, including tax and internal audit support.
- Collaborate closely with key members of the windows business team on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work in partnership with both internal and external auditors to ensure compliance.

- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure adherence to corporate SOX compliance for assigned facilities, including tracking and addressing internal control deficiencies.

Division Financial Planning & Analysis

- Manage and oversee the Division's FP&A activities, including forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Lead the annual budgeting process for the Windows division and coordinate with the Corporate FP&A team.

- Oversee Division BPC activities, including chart of accounts mapping, integration, reconciliation, validation, and necessary reporting adjustments based on business requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

- Mentor and develop a team comprising two Senior Accountants and one Financial Analyst, managing resource allocation, training, performance evaluations, and fostering effective team dynamics.
- Collaborate with the Accounting and Finance team to drive process enhancements.
- Undertake special projects as assigned.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of ten years of progressive accounting experience; public accounting experience is highly preferred.
- Required experience in manufacturing accounting.
- Previous experience in FP&A is essential.
- An MBA or finance degree is a plus.
- Familiarity with ERP systems, particularly JD Edwards, is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet applications, especially Excel, is required.
- Prior supervisory experience is necessary.

Physical Requirements

- The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, and communicate effectively.

- The role may occasionally require stooping, kneeling, or crouching, with the ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.


Work Environment

- The typical noise level in the work environment is moderate, primarily based in an office setting.

- Occasional visits to manufacturing units may be required, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
