We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer to join our team at Archetype Permanent Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for power generation driven by reciprocating gas engines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and lead the development and execution of control systems for power generation driven by reciprocating gas engines.
- Retrofit and convert control systems to a broad range of programmable controls, with a focus on multipoint injection controls and associated gas valve equipment.
- Develop and implement auxiliary control systems, including PLC's, HMI's, SCADA, AVR's, protective relays, and power management controls.
- Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repairs.
- Design, test, and integrate systems for engine safety controls on board and land-based applications.
- Maintain documentation of manuals, descriptions, and electrical/electronic drawings.
- Report work scope, activities, findings, and conditions with documentation in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and 5 years of relevant work experience or 12 years of relevant work experience in power generation, industrial automation, or a related industry.
- Valid US driving license.
- Valid passport.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with Spanish a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays and weekends.
What We Offer:
- Competitive salary range of $110,000 - $135,000 annually, based on skills and experience.
- Sign-on bonus.
- Annual bonus (STI) of up to 10% of the annual salary.
- Bonus compensation for qualified commissioning jobs.
