We are seeking a highly skilled Application Engineer to join our team at Archetype Permanent Solutions. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for power generation driven by reciprocating gas engines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead the development and execution of control systems for power generation driven by reciprocating gas engines.
  • Retrofit and convert control systems to a broad range of programmable controls, with a focus on multipoint injection controls and associated gas valve equipment.
  • Develop and implement auxiliary control systems, including PLC's, HMI's, SCADA, AVR's, protective relays, and power management controls.
  • Inspect and test electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repairs.
  • Design, test, and integrate systems for engine safety controls on board and land-based applications.
  • Maintain documentation of manuals, descriptions, and electrical/electronic drawings.
  • Report work scope, activities, findings, and conditions with documentation in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and 5 years of relevant work experience or 12 years of relevant work experience in power generation, industrial automation, or a related industry.
  • Valid US driving license.
  • Valid passport.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including overnight stays and weekends.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range of $110,000 - $135,000 annually, based on skills and experience.
  • Sign-on bonus.
  • Annual bonus (STI) of up to 10% of the annual salary.
  • Bonus compensation for qualified commissioning jobs.
