Position Overview

The Water Business Line at AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Wastewater Process Engineer. The successful candidate will have a robust background in designing municipal wastewater treatment facilities, as well as experience with conveyance and pumping systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead engineer on municipal wastewater infrastructure projects, including advanced treatment and reuse systems.
  • Oversee the preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and other essential project documentation.
  • Collaborate with technical leads in water reuse and wastewater sectors to leverage AECOM's national and global expertise for local clients.
  • Identify new business opportunities for AECOM, engage in project presentations to clients and external stakeholders, and promote AECOM's services.
  • Facilitate contract negotiations with clients and subcontractors, drafting complex service agreements for senior management review.
  • Supervise technical professionals, associate project managers, and design staff, managing workloads and staffing effectively.
  • Assist with regional marketing initiatives.
  • Engage in professional societies relevant to the wastewater industry.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, with progressive roles in municipal wastewater infrastructure design.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license in Florida or the ability to obtain reciprocity within six months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with municipal projects.
  • Familiarity with Sumo/Biowin wastewater process modeling.
  • Proficiency in software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, REVIT, MicroStation, SWMM, and/or Storm/Sewer/WaterCAD.
  • Experience working with local clients in Florida.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including client interaction, public speaking, and persuasive communication; adept in project financial management and leading diverse teams.
