Role Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated RN specializing in Oncology to join a forward-thinking team committed to delivering exceptional care to individuals undergoing cancer treatment. As an Oncology RN, you will play a vital role in the patient support system, acting as the primary contact for patients during a challenging time. Your responsibilities will encompass the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care from admission through discharge.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct thorough assessments of patients' overall health, focusing on their physical, mental, and emotional well-being, as well as nutritional needs and family involvement.
  2. Develop a targeted care plan and prioritize treatments based on individual patient needs and available resources.
  3. Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
  4. Ensure efficient patient flow in examination areas.
  5. Administer chemotherapy and radiation treatments, along with supportive care for managing symptoms.
  6. Monitor and document treatment outcomes.
  7. Educate patients and their families about the disease, treatment options, and potential side effects.
  8. Translate complex medical information into understandable terms for patients and provide guidance on disease prevention and personal care.
  9. Offer emotional support to patients and families navigating the challenges of treatment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience as an RN.
  • Active RN license in the state of practice.
  • Current certifications as required by the facility.
  • CPR and BLS certification.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of specialty care services.
  • Proficiency in word processing, Electronic Health Records, and database applications.
