Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Research Nurse (RN) to join our team at US Oncology Network. As a Clinical Research Nurse, you will play a critical role in the conduct of clinical trials, providing care for patients receiving cutting-edge treatments within the oncology clinic.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a life-changing difference in the lives of patients who wouldn't be possible without clinical trials. You will work collaboratively with physicians and other providers to screen potential patients for eligibility, present trial concepts and details to patients, and enroll patients on clinical trials.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians and other providers to screen potential patients for eligibility
  • Present trial concepts and details to patients, participate in the informed consent process, and enroll patients on clinical trials
  • Coordinate patient care in compliance with protocol requirements
  • Dispense investigational drug and provide patient teaching regarding administration
  • Maintain investigational drug accountability
  • Review patients for changes in condition, adverse events, concomitant medication use, protocol compliance, response to study drug, and thoroughly document all findings
  • Responsible for reviewing protocol specific billing guides and submitting billing information to appropriate personnel
  • Collaborate with study team on subject recruitment and study enrollment goals
  • Work with team to determine effective strategies for promoting/recruiting research participants and retaining participants in long-term clinical trials
  • Provide clinical services as required, including patient assessments
  • Assist with collection and maintenance of regulatory documents in accordance with USOR SOP and applicable regulations
  • May collaborate with Research Site Leader in the study selection process
  • May participate in scheduling monitoring and auditing visits as well as interact with the monitors/auditors while onsite
  • Participate in required training and education of staff and patients
  • Assist with the preparation of orders by physicians to assure that protocol compliance is maintained
  • Communicate with physician regarding study requirements, need for dose modification, and adverse event reporting
Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited program for nursing education required (BSN preferred)
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in state of practice
  • Current BLS or ACLS certification required
  • Minimum 3 years of RN experience required, preferably in oncology
  • OCN certification strongly preferred
  • CCRC or CCRP certification preferred
