Job Summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks a highly skilled Program Manager to join our Radiation Oncology Research team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing scientific and research development input, writing, and coordination for trials and research projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing, planning, submitting, and following through on multi-investigator/project/grant applications and proposals to federal/state sponsors, industry, and philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement research projects, including coordinating with faculty researchers, administrators, and other staff research team members.
  • Provide scientific and research development input, writing, and coordination for trials and research projects.
  • Assist in quality assurance of data collected by clinical trial research personnel.
  • Oversee biospecimen management by laboratory or research staff.
  • Attend or coordinate programmatic research meetings and monitor project/program progression, deliverables, timelines, and sponsor deliverables.
  • Support the interpretation of results and research outcomes in order to best represent research progress in presentation and graphical formats.
  • Remain knowledgeable in aspects of programmatic initiatives to be able to evaluate scientific challenges that may affect the projects.
  • Write and edit scientific and other components for prioritized grant or proposal submissions.
  • Establish workflow and work closely with scientific and administrative partners on development, timely submission, and follow-through of projects.
  • Manage the coordination of working groups to facilitate collaborations and future research endeavors.
  • Facilitate post-award management of activities as they pertain to development of on-going priority proposal submissions.
  • Develop, compile, and write scientific reports based on complex research data, and coordinate submission of summaries and progress reports to sponsors.
  • Coordinate with research subject matter experts and administrators to track, compile, and present milestones and outcomes of research-associated activities.
  • Assist in resource justification and utilization for current and future projects/programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare/Business Administration or related field.
  • Master's degree in a scientific discipline, healthcare, or related field preferred.
  • Four years administrative/financial management experience, including data gathering, grant planning, preparation, and two years of supervisory/management experience.
  • Clinical trial research experience preferred.
