Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate General Manager to join our team at C. Harper Auto Group. As a local industry leader in the Automotive industry, we pride ourselves on having the best employees and management throughout our over 40 years of serving the Greater Pittsburgh and Tri-State Areas.

Responsibilities:Team Leadership and Development:
  • Recruit, hire, train, and mentor automotive salespeople.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and performance of the sales team.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that promotes teamwork and high morale.
Sales Strategy and Execution:
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed sales goals.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Set daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets and track progress towards these goals.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement promotional campaigns.
Customer Relationship Management:
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and addressing customer concerns promptly.
  • Assist customers in selecting vehicles by asking questions and understanding their needs and preferences.
  • Present and demonstrate new and used vehicles to potential customers, highlighting key features and benefits.
  • Follow up with customers post-purchase to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Operational Management:
  • Oversee the daily operations of the sales department, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage inventory levels, coordinating with the purchasing department to ensure an optimal selection of vehicles.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional showroom environment.
Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the sales department budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Monitor sales and profit margins, implementing strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Prepare and present regular sales reports to senior management.
Qualifications:Experience and Education:
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in automotive sales management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Leadership and Management Skills:
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Experience in training, mentoring, and developing sales personnel.
  • Ability to set clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable.
Sales and Customer Service Expertise:
  • In-depth knowledge of automotive sales processes and techniques.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a commitment to providing a superior customer experience.
  • Ability to effectively handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments to achieve common goals.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and trends.
  • Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement effective strategies.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with automotive sales and CRM software.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
