Independent Living Specialist

We are committed to empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live their most independent lives. As an Independent Living Professional, you will play a vital role in teaching new skills and improving independence for our clients. Your schedule will vary based on the support needs of the program participants, and you will work 1:1 with several individuals to achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide culturally appropriate direct support to individuals using person-centered approaches and strategies
- Engage and facilitate meaningful activities that cater to the person's individual interest, preferences, and choices
- Assist in accessing appropriate services, including employment services, medical/dental care, housing assistance, legal assistance, food banks, benefit programs, and other community programs
- Completion of electronic documentation prior to end of shifts
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2 or more years of prior hands-on experience with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities
- Valid CA Driver's License with clean driving record
- Immediate access to vehicle with working seatbelts to transport participants
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and move up to 75 lbs
- High comfort in using multiple computer/mobile device programs
