Freedom Forever is actively seeking an Installer for our Houston Office

Are you skilled in residential solar installations and seeking a workplace that fosters growth? If you are enthusiastic about Solar, Renewable Energy, Natural Resources, and Sustainability, we encourage you to consider this opportunity

The Installer is tasked with the assembly, installation, and/or maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on various surfaces (including rooftops, ground mounts, and specific structures). Daily responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, measuring, cutting, drilling, working at heights, performing minor electrical tasks, assisting with structural enhancements, utilizing hand/power tools, interpreting plan sets, adhering to instructions, following safety protocols, and supporting senior members of the installation team.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Transporting project materials to and from the Company vehicle
  • Safely handling materials during installation on roofs or structures
  • Efficiently assembling all roof components
  • Executing electrical tasks as directed by the crew lead, both independently and under supervision
  • Installing projects in accordance with Freedom Forever plan sets
  • Sealing penetrations as necessary to maintain project integrity
  • Providing onsite guidance and support to Installer I's
  • Ensuring compliance with Freedom Forever policies and relevant codes (e.g., NFPA-70, IRC, IFC, CA-T24, etc.)
  • Adhering strictly to all safety regulations and policies of Freedom Forever
  • Following directions from senior crew members
  • Offering suggestions for efficiency and compliance improvements through appropriate channels
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction
  • May require direct communication with end users
  • Some travel may be necessary
  • May involve driving a Freedom Forever vehicle
  • Performing additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA:

Education & Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
Experience:
  • 6 months to 1 year of experience in PV installation (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of all PV products utilized by Freedom Forever
  • Familiarity with building standards and applicable codes
  • Ability to communicate professionally and clearly with others
  • Compliant installation of conduit (EMT, RMC, IMC, LFMC, and FMC)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Special Skills & Training:
  • Completion of all assigned Freedom Forever training modules and documentation by designated deadlines
  • Optional training (Freedom Forever and external) may be pursued at the employee's discretion outside of work hours

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

If travel is necessary, a valid Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to operate a personal vehicle to various sites is required.
