Biomedical Equipment Technician II

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician II to join our team at Lifespan. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing medical equipment to ensure optimal performance and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities- Clean and prepare equipment for repair and inspection
- Perform safety inspections, performance verifications, calibrations, and preventative maintenance on general medical devices
- Repair and maintain departmental maintenance records
- Identify and determine solutions to equipment-related issues
- Assist with equipment installation and product recall/corrective actions
- Conduct equipment safety rounds on clinical floors
- Prepare and maintain records for inventory, safety tests, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities
- Respond to emergency repair calls for patient-connected life support systems
- Associate degree in electrical, electronic, or mechanical technology or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of electro-mechanical and electronic equipment maintenance
- Ability to read electro-mechanical circuit diagrams and manufacturers' service manuals
- Ability to use independent judgment to determine priorities, analyze problems, and develop methods and procedures to resolve routine and emergency repairs
- One to three years' progressive experience in electronics, electrical, electro-mechanical, or computer maintenance; biomedical equipment maintenance in a healthcare environment preferred
The incumbent will be exposed to a patient-care environment and work with electrical equipment. Any potential hazard will be minimized or nullified by adherence to safety procedures and protocols.
Independent ActionThe incumbent will function independently within the department's policies and procedures, referring specific complex issues to the supervisor when clarification of policies and procedures is required.
