CRP Instructional Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Educational Assistant to support our students with special needs in a CRP (Classified Related Personnel) instructional setting. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a certified teacher to provide a well-organized and smoothly functioning classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist students with exercises and preparation of materials for class activities
Reinforce knowledge and skills taught by the classroom teacher
Administer and grade tests, record grades, and substitute as needed
Escort children to other areas of the school and monitor student behavior
Participate in free play time, assist with basic health needs, and accompany individuals to lavatories
May instruct students in the use of computer programs related to their respective subjects
May assist in teaching, correcting, and transcribing Braille, serve as a liaison between school and parents, and translate to parents and students
May operate computers and provide basic computer instructional assistance to students
Manage a computer lab, performing various duties including enrolling students, maintaining records, operating and ensuring the proper maintenance of computers, troubleshooting computer problems, supervising students, and maintaining a clean and orderly facility
Create bulletin board displays in the classroom or department
Assist in maintaining student records and files, including performing computer data entry
Prepare transparencies, charts, graphs, and duplicated materials for classroom use, operate and care for audio-visual equipment
Assist in cleaning and storing of materials after completion of activities
Supervise students when unloading and loading buses, in the halls, on field trips, during lunch, and on school grounds
Participate in staff development programs as required
Interact and communicate with various groups and individuals, including the immediate supervisor, teachers, students, parents, co-workers, school administrators, and other school/District personnel
Requirements:
Requires a minimum of 60 college hours from an accredited college or university or a passing score of 456 or above on the Praxis ParaPro Assessment, supplemented by two years of consistent training and experience working with children in an education-oriented institution
