About the Role

We are seeking a highly qualified and passionate English Language Arts Teacher to join our Middle School team at Bedford Stuyvesant New Beginnings Charter School. As an ELA Teacher, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our scholars and helping them develop a love for learning.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement engaging and rigorous lesson plans that meet and exceed Common Core standards.
  • Partner with co-teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic growth and social-emotional development.
  • Assist with preparing students for New York State exams and provide individualized support to ensure student success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to refine teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices in education.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and supportive school culture that values community, equity, and excellence.
Requirements
  • Valid and current New York State Teacher Certification.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • At least 2+ years of classroom teaching experience, preferably in an urban school setting.
  • Ability to clear a fingerprint background check and obtain necessary certifications.
