POSITION OVERVIEW

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in effectively communicating our organization's mission and services to the community, partners, members, and other stakeholders. This role involves attending community gatherings, delivering public presentations, coordinating training sessions, and developing promotional and marketing materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Collaborates with SEABHS Leadership to implement strategic initiatives, overseeing project management, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving.

- Distributes information to the public about agency activities and serves as a liaison with local media and stakeholders to enhance community visibility.

- Manages digital marketing efforts through social media channels and the organization’s website.

- Oversees the donor database and generates correspondence for donors.

- Engages with a diverse range of individuals and organizations, including executive staff, board members, funders, stakeholders, community members, and employees.

- Prepares, reviews, and edits various forms of correspondence, including emails, letters, meeting minutes, press releases, marketing materials, and newsletters.

- Maintains organized files and ensures timely responses to all correspondence and administrative documents, including meeting and committee minutes.

- Communicates professionally, both verbally and in writing, with staff, the public, stakeholders, and members.

- Conducts research and prepares reports on various topics, including monthly status updates for SEABHS Leadership.

- Arranges meetings and travel logistics as necessary.

- Participates in committees and meetings as required.

- Engages in targeted educational and professional development opportunities to enhance professional skills.

- Evaluates processes and makes recommendations for organizational improvement and enhanced public perception.

- Represents the agency with professionalism at all times.

- Conducts outreach to agencies, organizations, partners, and stakeholders, delivering presentations both in-person and via online platforms.

- Develops marketing and messaging materials, including pamphlets, brochures, presentations, newsletters, and social media content.

- Collaborates with web developers to update the organization’s website.

QUALIFICATIONS

- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two years of experience in community engagement.

- An Associate's degree and three years of experience in community engagement.

- A high school diploma or equivalent and four years of experience in community engagement.

- Must demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, flexibility, and adaptability to various situations and personalities. Discretion and sensitivity to confidential matters are essential. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal management, staff, board members, and external clients, vendors, and stakeholders is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

- Knowledge of and sensitivity to cultural competence principles.

- Proven ability to remain composed in crisis situations, work independently and collaboratively, recognize personal limitations, and relate positively and empathetically to individuals of diverse backgrounds.

- Uphold professional conduct in line with ethical practices and agency policies.

- Maintain a professional demeanor and foster positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community partners.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

- Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, automobile insurance, and a clean driving record are necessary.

- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.

- Proof of physical examination and annual TB skin test documentation may be required.

- Fingerprint clearance may be necessary for roles involving children.
