Key Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner to eliminate accidents and adhere to job budgets.
  • Oversee concrete preparation, placement, installation, finishing, and curing activities.
  • Identify concrete mixes and determine necessary equipment and procedures to achieve desired finish and performance results.
  • Divide projects into stages, assess labor and material requirements, and communicate equipment and manpower needs to meet schedules and deadlines.
  • Resolve any problems that may impact project quality and completion.
  • Verify inventory loads against shipping papers and ensure accuracy.
  • Consult blueprints, drawings, and plans to ensure accurate placement and installation of concrete structures.
  • Clean equipment as needed and perform routine maintenance.
  • Delegate tasks to concrete laborers and provide guidance throughout the project.
  • Assist in building and positioning forms for pouring concrete, as well as dismantling forms after use.
  • Load, unload, and haul materials as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of hours worked and materials used for each project.
  • Ensure proper erection, support, and dismantling of formwork and shoring based on engineering designs and drawings.
  • Inspect concrete post-formwork removal and instruct laborers on defect correction and concrete finishing.
  • Report any mechanical issues with vehicles and promptly notify supervisors.
  • Report delays, accidents, or transportation issues and submit receipts from deliveries or purchases.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in concrete construction and supervision.
  • Knowledge of concrete mixes, equipment, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret engineering designs.
  • Proficient in equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Must be able to push and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have the balance and dexterity to maneuver around a construction site and must enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Must be drug and alcohol free.
  • Ability to stand, bend, twist, and climb ladders throughout complete shift.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Adhering to all safety policies, including wearing safety harness and other required equipment.
  • Ability to withstand different climates (extreme heat and other weather).
  • Ability to see.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to communicate audibly with others.
  • Dependability – jobs must be completed within certain timeframes, so workers must be able to fulfill obligations.
