POSITION OVERVIEW
Responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and structural components within the Concentrator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Work on systems including crushers, ball mills, semi-autogenous mills, screen decks, compressors, filter drums, and various pumps.
- Conduct mechanical and lubrication preventative maintenance: Identify potential issues such as unusual noises or wear on agitators, rotors, belts, pulleys, and gearboxes.
- Make informed decisions regarding equipment repairs as necessary.
- Perform welding tasks (Stick, Tig) as part of maintenance and repair activities.
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, pneumatic tools, and small mobile machinery.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment while conducting work area inspections.
- Experience with gear and shaft alignments.
- Responsible for the maintenance and repair of large conveyors in a concentrator setting.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts in a continuous operation environment.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Perform other tasks as required to support mechanical operations.
- Act as a Fill-in Supervisor when necessary.
- Provide training and mentorship to fellow employees.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Ability to comprehend and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English.
- Effective communication skills in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards.
- Proficient in reading and utilizing schematics and blueprints.
- Strong time management abilities.
- Manual dexterity required for the use of hand tools.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Two (2) years of experience in mill mechanical maintenance or a combination of education and experience in industrial mechanical repair and maintenance.
- Prior experience operating mobile cranes exceeding twenty (20) tons.
- Certification in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick, Arc).
- Completion of training or instruction in environmental awareness is required.
- This position requires training or instruction in safety and health awareness, including completion of appropriate OSHA and/or MSHA training.
