About the RoleThe Personal Injury Paralegal will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our attorneys, including:
- Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients, providing updates on case progress and answering their questions and concerns.
- Case Management: Assist attorneys in organizing and managing case files, including tracking important deadlines, appointments, and court dates.
- Document Preparation: Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal procedures.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research to support attorneys in case preparation, including gathering information on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents.
- Record Keeping: Maintain organized and up-to-date electronic and physical case files, ensuring easy retrieval of information when needed.
- Witness Coordination: Assist in identifying and coordinating witnesses for depositions, interviews, and court appearances.
- Trial Preparation: Prepare trial exhibits, assist in developing trial strategy, and coordinate with experts and witnesses for trial.
- Administrative Tasks: Handle administrative duties, including scheduling appointments, managing attorney calendars, and processing legal documents and correspondence.
- Billing: Assist in preparing and reviewing client invoices and tracking billable hours.
- Compliance: Ensure that all case-related activities adhere to ethical and professional standards, including maintaining client confidentiality.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Paralegal certification is a plus
- Previous experience as a paralegal, particularly in personal injury law, is highly desirable
- Proficiency in legal research and document preparation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and clients
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Familiarity with legal software and technology
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and empathetic approach when interacting with clients
