We are seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Plant Operator - Class B to join our team at the City of Wildwood, FL. As a key member of our Utilities Department, you will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and repair of our wastewater treatment plant facilities and systems.
Key Responsibilities- Plant Operations: Monitor and adjust the performance of all equipment, gauges, and charts in the wastewater treatment plant; record statistical data concerning plant operations; maintain, operate, repair, and replace equipment as necessary.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and repair malfunctions at the wastewater treatment plant; repair gauges, pumps, filters, and other controls and equipment.
- Water Quality Monitoring: Collect all samples and identify concentrations of chemical, physical, or biological characteristics of water required in accordance with local, state, and Federal requirements; gather and test water samples for plant efficiency as required.
- Quality Control: Perform quality control tests on lab equipment and lab analyses; evaluate procedures and results for accuracy and determine appropriate methods.
- Training and Development: Train lesser skilled wastewater treatment plant operators for plant operational procedures, sampling, and maintenance operations.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience: Three (3) years of experience in wastewater utility preferred.
- Licenses and Certifications: Valid State of Florida Driver's License or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire; State of Florida Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator's License - Class B; Valid Commercial Driver's License Class B (CDL B).
