POSITION SUMMARY:
As a vital member of The University of Vermont Health Network, the Campus Safety Coordinator is entrusted with ensuring the safety and security of our facilities.

The primary duties of the Campus Safety Coordinator include conducting regular patrols, responding promptly to both urgent and routine requests for assistance, and meticulously documenting all services rendered during each shift.

The Coordinator is expected to maintain a professional demeanor and demonstrate courtesy in all interactions.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

In situations requiring immediate assistance, the Campus Safety Coordinator may need to take decisive action to manage violent or threatening incidents, particularly when attempts at verbal de-escalation have been made by clinical and non-clinical personnel.

This role may involve the necessity to detain or restrain individuals who pose a risk to themselves or others.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.

EXPERIENCE PREFERENCES:

Previous experience in security or public safety is advantageous, particularly in fostering a secure and respectful environment during high-pressure situations involving a diverse array of patients, visitors, and staff.
