Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Safety Specialist to join our team at LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety and health of employees, clients, and contractors at our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Site Safety Management: Manage all aspects of current and future construction and renovation sites, ensuring compliance with safety and health regulations and guidelines.
  • Hazard Identification and Mitigation: Identify potential safety and health hazards and take steps to mitigate potential hazards, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Assist in incident investigation and ensure proper records are completed and submitted.
  • Training and Development: Provide new hire orientation, visitor contractor safety training, and participate in external safety inspections.
  • Project Coordination: Conduct daily site visits, track and complete required permits, and report progress to the EHS team.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Environmental Health & Safety required or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Certifications: Preferred certifications include Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Associate Constructor (AC), Certified Professional Contractor (CPC), or Certified Safety Manager Construction (CSMC).
  • Experience: 1 to 3+ years of experience in managing new-construction and remodelling projects.
Skills
  • Construction Safety Knowledge: Knowledge of construction methods and technologies, including LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space, Aerial Lifts, PIT, Walking Working Surfaces, HAZCOM, and Incident Investigation.
  • Communication Skills: Verbal and written skills to interact with stakeholders, including clients, HQ, EHS management, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of hazard assessments and job safety analysis, as well as MS Office Suite.
