Job Title: Debt Recovery Specialist

In this role at Shelby County Federal Credit Union, you will be responsible for collecting past due loan and credit card accounts from members. This involves contacting delinquent members via phone, mail, or other communication channels to discuss their payment status. You will investigate the reasons for late payments by speaking with members and reviewing account details.

You will also negotiate repayment plans that fit each member's financial situation, ensuring compliance with all state and federal collection laws, including Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) guidelines. In addition, you will maintain accurate records of all collection activities and escalate accounts to legal counsel or collection agencies when necessary.

Estimated Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year based on location and experience.
