About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at Serenity Recovery Centers. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive counseling services to clients in substance abuse treatment.

Responsibilities
  1. Carry a caseload of clients and provide individualized counseling, case management, and rehabilitation services per program requirements.
  2. Conduct initial and ongoing client assessments, including ASI evaluations and ASAM case reviews.
  3. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, goals, and objectives responsive to client needs and areas of impairment.
  4. Facilitate group therapy sessions and maintain accurate records of client progress.
  5. Provide guidance and support to Counselors in Training, modeling professionalism and advocating for client rights.
  6. Maintain strict adherence to federal confidentiality laws and facility cleanliness standards.
  7. Obtain necessary training and certifications, including CPR and First Aid, to ensure professional growth and development.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in behavioral health or addictions field of study or a combination of both.
  • Demonstrable experience in interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to own recovery if applicable.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules and submit to background checks.
  • Two years of sobriety desired for recovering individuals.
Salary

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and location.
